Intro
It was around this time last year that I found out we were pregnant with our little girl, Maria! How’s that for a Valentine’s Day gift ?😆
In this post, we will be going through a few gift ideas specifically for moms to young children. These will be organized from most expensive to least expensive, so there’s an idea for everyone!

Spa Date

Book her a manicure, pedicure, or facial.
This is a great idea if you have a higher budget. I’m not big on going to the spa to get my nails done because I would much rather go to Tutsie’s (Book here: tutsiesalonbar.com) and my husband knows this.
Also, tell your spouse what kind of gifts you like. As much as we’d want them to be mindreaders, they are not so it makes the world of a difference to let them know what we like.

Date night

Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity for a date night in my opinion so it makes the list here as a nice gift for your wife. So get a babysitter to watch the babies for the night and unwind together, just the two of you.
My husband, John-Luke and I LOVE going out together on dates. It’s the time we get to spend some well-needed one-on-one time just talking, I truly love his company.

Physiotherapy

This will be the answer to your prayers, trust me. Moms are lifting their young children many times throughout the day so it’s quite common to experience back/shoulder pain at some point.
I used to think getting a massage was so helpful until my brother-in-law introduced me to Cupping Therapy.  This has helped my back pain significantly. So much so, it doesn’t even make sense getting a massage. If you are wondering what cupping is – it is a form of alternative medicine involving the use of cups that are applied to the skin using negative pressure to create a suction effect. The result is increased blood flow to those areas and the removal of toxins. This allows for a reduction in pain and a feeling of relaxation afterward.
I can attest to the wonders of cupping because I’m proof that it certainly helps! A physiotherapist who has been certified in cupping therapy should be the one to perform this. If you are in Kingston, Jamaica and interested, you can send an email to Matthew.a.j.foster@hotmail.com. If you are overseas, or in some other part of the island, find out from a physiotherapist near you! Let me know if  you’ve ever heard about this in the comments below!

Flowers

There’s something so sweet about receiving flowers, you feel appreciated, and that’s lovely.
Flowers are a kind and budget-friendly gift idea for the mother to your children. I would go even further to say, buy flowers more often! Let the love THRIVE and show her how much she’s appreciated.

Movie Date

By now, you’re probably aware of the Bob Marley: One Love movie coming out in theatres on February 14th! My friend from Med School recently did an excellent movie review on her blog which I’m sure you’ll find informative especially if you’re into travel. Here’s the link:  https://adventuresfromelle.com/2024/01/26/one-love/
This is another great budget-friendly idea for Valentine’s Day.

Summing it up
Whether you chose a Spa Date or flowers, I’m sure she feel grateful that you thought of her.

Now we’ve come to the end of this post and I wanted to share the most important idea for Wednesday- Ash Wednesday which happens to be Valentine’s Day this year.
Go to church and show your love to Jesus Christ, the one who died for you and me.
Greater love has no one that this that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
That is love.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Til next week,

Abby
